LIGHTS and SOFT CULT @ SAINT ANDREWβS HALL

Canadian Electro-Pop Queen stopped in for a night at Saint Andrewβs Hall with Soft Cult.
LIGHTS is a world-renowned Canadian electronic artist known for her platinum-shelf synth-pop that makes emo kids dance like theyβre at the Black Parade album release party. Itβs pretty rad to witness. She has been ripping her own music straight from her mystic creativity for as long as I can remember social media being a thing. I found her during an electronic binge of female producers near the end of Myspace's days. I found her and Grimes on the same day and only one of them stayed in my music collection since. js. She has been atop my pop music photography bucket list for over a decade, and Iβm just so stoked to be able to check her off the list. Hopefully, itβs a precursor to more stuff that I consider βpallet cleansersβ for hardcore and punk kids. She brought with her the band Soft Cult, which was a shoegazey, dreamy intro to the danceable tunes Lights provided. I enjoyed the entire night, but I had to dip to get to the memorial show in Melvindale for Jason Williams to catch Escalation of Force. Thankful I was able to make both shows happen, even though I wish I couldβve caught the entirety of both without shattering the laws of physics. Lights only has a few US and Canada dates before taking a break and then heading to Europe and the UK later this year. See the photos below and check the tour flyer for those remaining dates!
