Bloodlined Calligraphy @ Grove Studios (Rehearsal)

BLOODLINED CALLIGRAPHY rehearsing at Grove Studios in Ypsilanti, MI 5.3.25

Got to hang with Bloodlined Calligraphy while they did some rehearsing in the springtime before their run of shows in the summer. I have a long history with this band, dating back to the days when Friction ran the door at Mr. Muggs in Ypsilanti. After Carter left the band in 2007, shortly after the Ypsilanti release, my cousin Josh took on the drums for them. Ever since, I have attended almost every show, with my camera in tow, since around 2017. If you have seen images of them since then, chances are I took them.

They gave me the ability to get comfortable in this very intimate setting. It made it easier being the drummer was the kid I gave my drum set to for Christmas one year. This shit is special. Not to mention the continuation of this group of people pays homage to their original bass player, Eric Cargile. RIP.

It only made sense that after his passing and the decision to go on that his spot be filled none other than by Eric’s best friend, original Friction and Bloodlined Calligraphy vocalist, Birdman. He wasn’t able to make it to this rehearsal, though he was there in spirit. I was higher than shit and ripped my vape pen one too many times, but we persevere. Shoutout to BLC for having me and to Grove Studios, who let us make some noise for a little bit.
