Cold World, Fatal Realm, New World Man, Bad Beat, and King's Command @ Tangent Gallery (10.24.25.)

This was a fun night. 5 bands. Show over before 10 pm. Stoned on the couch in Westland by 11. Hey, well, at least no one broke the water main. Kinda weird to still have the same energy after doing that though right? Anyway, all the bands ripped. Stoked for what's coming down the pipe.

Sammy Siegler of Judge playing "Give It Up" @ Tied Down Detroit 2025

So nuts, I have seen Sammy play in 4 different bands in the last 2 years. His crossovers, playing open-handed, standing up and playing, all of it was so influential to me as I got deeper into drumming. He's so nuts. This makes me want to play again for sure. I need to do more drum cams going forward, it's the funnest shit out of all of the music photography stuff to do. Hang with them.

END It, Hold My Own, Clique, and WMD @ Edgemen Screenprinting

Such a good show. My apologies to WMD for not being able to photograph their set, and to all those on stage right as I stayed on stage left all night... I also decided to go old school with it. One lens. No flash. I am fucking bored, so bear with me while I try to make things interesting for myself.

End it put out my favorite hardcore record this year. Hold My Own played new songs off their upcoming LP coming out next year, and they were fucking sick! Clique and WMD are just fucking awesome, so listen to them! Especially if you didn't get a chance to see this show!

SHERBURT SELECTS - FOIL PACK 006

SHERBURT SELECTS is a way to express my childhood love for rare collectible cards.

Foils were some of my favorites to get. So why not do foil packs?
Yes, I do know there is a double entendre here with heroin foil packs. Yes, I am okay with that.
See what I am thinking of is Upper Deck and Fleer and Panini.
Where your mind goes, is not up to me.
The sixth pack has my favorite edit of the first set, Alkaline Trio.
Each set of 24 gets compiled and then packs get randomly sorted.
Six packs of four every quarter.

Neck Deep, Drain, Bearings, and Higher Power @ Royal Oak Music Theatre

Neck Deep has been on my list of bands to photograph since I started doing this over a decade ago. For whatever reason it just seemed like it was never going to happen. Denial after denial. Then I got approved and woke up the day of the show sick with the flu. And of course, more denials. Then I had to not put in once for inventory at my old job. It just seemed like a lost cause

Boris and The Melvins Brought the "Twins of Evil" Tour to St. Andrew’s Hall

Boris and The Melvins at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit was a treat for me being I was obliterated on dabs and in a really good mood knowing the next day I would be flying to California. That type of energy should be able to be bottled! It made shooting so relaxing, for the first time ever. Usually, I am anxious and trying to keep myself focused. Luckily I was able to just enjoy myself and photograph the sets and feel special. Knowing Nirvana played this room is a big deal for most of us right? So to have anyone that is connected to them come here and play in the same room, is a pretty big deal. This all plays into my theory that

Time Is A Circle Pit.

The Slaughter The Martour with Machine Head and More @ St Andrew’s Hall in Detroit

To Dream Is To Cream… The Only Sherburt Ever is Here.

Hello, it is me, your friend Sherburt. For the last 5 years, I have been running a website called I Like Their Old Stuff. I have covered everything from Movement Festival to Slayer’s Last Michigan Show to Local Gigs with 10 people in attendance. Over the years I always dreamed of getting past this stage of blogging or content creation and just making art without any kind of guidelines or pigeon holding by artist PR. Welp, this is a free-for-all. People can tell me in emails what their expectations are but the truth is, I have no desire to create for a person who answers emails. I am making art for me. I am making art for the fans of the bands. And I am making art for the bands. This has been an issue for me especially starting last year. I have to keep up these fucking appearances like I am a functioning media outlet when the truth is I’m one human being on my own. I don’t have a team. Nor do I want one. Cue some uplifting Drum and Bass music please I need it…
