NIKIβS PIZZA RAGER #1 - TOTAL SUPPLY SHOWCASE
WALKING ON SUNSHINE @ TOTAL SUPPLY SHOWCASE AT NIKIβS PIZZA (TAKEN BY SHERBURT)
I never thought I would be at a hardcore show at Nikiβs Pizza. I mean, itβs a Detroit staple, but it doesnβt scream βbook a hardcore show here!β at all. I mean, I felt like I was in a wedding venue, or house music club, and then someone jumped off the sidewall in the middle of the roomβ¦ and then I was like we are no doubt gonna break something. But as far as I know, everything went off without any problems.
I personally missed two sets because I indulged in a Nikiβs pepperoni pizza and walked it back to my refrigerator on wheels before returning for the last two sets of the night. The pizza was good, I shouldβve ordered it well-done, and thatβs on me.

Gonna just give the simplified meathead breakdown of the showβ¦
Bands played. People danced. People ate pizza. No fights. Hard moshing. Stage diving off the elevated speaker somehowβ¦There, summed it up.

The photos are fun; they wouldβve been better if I hadnβt experienced technical difficulties. This was only my 2nd show back after a pretty long but much-needed hiatus. I tried to do 3 shows this weekend, but it just didnβt pan out. 2 out of 3 ainβt bad though. Check the gallery below, and after that, follow all the bands and folks involved in making this show go off. If you were there, cool, you got to experience something unique and new, even to us locals. Thanks for respecting the building and the staff. Hopefully, more shows will come from this. Shoutout to everyone outside of the Detroit area who comes to shows here, and specifically the bands from out of town or even Canada. Dealing with U.S. customs right now to put on a hardcore show is just rad. So yeah. There are a lot of folks who talk about it, and even bitch about shit here, and others who brave through blizzards to come to shows when the city is literally quiet and desolate in the middle of February.
Mad crazy Robocop vibes on a Saturday night. That and Four Brothers, for whatever reason.
Shout out to Total Supply, Tied Down Detroit, and Nikiβs Pizza.
