COLD CAVE CLOSES OUT THEIR TOUR IN DETROIT AT SAINT ANDREWβS HALL
Post-Punk legends Cold Cave closed out their tour in Detroit, Michigan, a couple of weekends ago, and I was able to drop in from a busy schedule and snag their set. It almost didnβt work out, but we made it happen on my end, and Iβm so glad it worked.
POISON THE WELL, CONVERGE, SPY, AND BALMORA @ THE CROFOOT
After a truly insane night at the Russell with Drain, No Pressure, Haywire, Secret World, and Cyadine, I didnβt even know if I had it in me to do this one. I was so whooped. I needed this weekend to whip me back into big show shape before the summer fests and tons of local shows to get swirly at.
Guilt Trip, Malevolence, Chamber @ The Shelter
Guilt Trip and Malevolence started their co-headliner tour at the infamous Shelter in Detroit, MI. Direct support for the tour is Nashvilleβs Chamber, and for the opening slot, Detroit Beatdown Hardcore Champions D-Bloc. I couldnβt get out of the house until after the doors opened, so I missed my friends in D-Bloc ripping the venue apart.
SUNAMI, SCOWL, ONE STEP CLOSER, WHISPERS, D BLOC @ THE MAGIC STICK
Hardcore heavyweight dominators Sunami are winding down their co-headlining tour with Scowl and made a late tour stop at Detroit's Majestic complex. Originally slated for the Majestic Theatre, the show was moved last minute to the Magic Stick. The room was packed to the gills. Smart move to move from a barrier with security catching crowd surfers to a no barricade show with stage diving.
Cold World, Fatal Realm, New World Man, Bad Beat, and King's Command @ Tangent Gallery (10.24.25.)
This was a fun night. 5 bands. Show over before 10 pm. Stoned on the couch in Westland by 11. Hey, well, at least no one broke the water main. Kinda weird to still have the same energy after doing that though right? Anyway, all the bands ripped. Stoked for what's coming down the pipe.
313 Day 2025 @ Edgemen Screenprinting
313 Day at Edgemen Screenprinting was such a good show and an even better day. D Bloc, Bad Beat, Escalation of Force, and Resolute all got shots from meβ¦
ZETA @ THE LOVING TOUCH
My friends in Zeta came through a few times in the last couple of months, but I missed their first one, so I made sure to get out and see them play a set at the Loving Touch in Ferndale as they were supporting the band A Lot Like Birds.
Sammy Siegler of Judge playing "Give It Up" @ Tied Down Detroit 2025
So nuts, I have seen Sammy play in 4 different bands in the last 2 years. His crossovers, playing open-handed, standing up and playing, all of it was so influential to me as I got deeper into drumming. He's so nuts. This makes me want to play again for sure. I need to do more drum cams going forward, it's the funnest shit out of all of the music photography stuff to do. Hang with them.
Ante Up, Bitter Truth, and More @ Parts & Labor
ANTE UP, BITTER TRUTH, MORAL POLLUTION, CHORUS OF DEMONS, AND KINGS COMMAND packed out Parts and Labor in Melvindaleβ¦
Pantera Pays Homage to the Abbott Brothers in Grand Rapids Alongside Lamb of God and Child Bite
I have to preface this with; it meant a lot to me to do this because the 3 guys I grew up listening to this band with in high school are all dead. RIP Joey Bags, Hansen, and Dolsen.
Boris and The Melvins Brought the "Twins of Evil" Tour to St. Andrewβs Hall
Boris and The Melvins at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit was a treat for me being I was obliterated on dabs and in a really good mood knowing the next day I would be flying to California. That type of energy should be able to be bottled! It made shooting so relaxing, for the first time ever. Usually, I am anxious and trying to keep myself focused. Luckily I was able to just enjoy myself and photograph the sets and feel special. Knowing Nirvana played this room is a big deal for most of us right? So to have anyone that is connected to them come here and play in the same room, is a pretty big deal. This all plays into my theory that
Time Is A Circle Pit.
The Slaughter The Martour with Machine Head and More @ St Andrewβs Hall in Detroit
Machine Head brought the Slaughter the Martour to Saint Andrewβs Hall in Detroit Saturday night. Packed to the gills alongside friends in Fear Factory, Swedenβs Orbit Culture, and my favorite on the lineup Gates to Hellβ¦
