ZETA @ THE LOVING TOUCH
My friends in Zeta came through a few times in the last couple of months, but I missed their first one, so I made sure to get out and see them play a set at the Loving Touch in Ferndale as they were supporting the band A Lot Like Birds. Zeta is in a category all its own. They are some of the nicest people I have met in my life, and I am so glad we met while doing the NOFX tour. They are known to back the Codefendants. Make no mistake, there are three different Codefendantsβ live experiences. There is a duo with someone playing the tracks through the PA. Thereβs Samβs band Get Dead backing them, which always leads to a more party and punk vibe to a set. And then there is the preference, when they play with Zeta as their backing band. Shoutout to Dani! Anyway, this was my first time seeing them as Zeta and not playing someone elseβs music. Truly blown away by all of it.
